Written by Freida Pinto is the latest young starlet to join Vanity Fair magazine’s pinup cavalcade, The Vanities Girls. The photo is featured in the March 2009 issue. VF just put up a gallery featuring 32 starlets in pinup shots.
Since 1992, the magazine’s Vanities section has opened with a full-page portrait of a promising young star. In September 2006, VF tweaked the format: the Vanities opener now features an up-and-coming actress in a 50s-style pinup shot. Other Vanities this year are Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Emily Blunt.
